It is well known by cultural revolutionaries that the key to changing a culture is to capture the minds and the hearts of youth. For the past 35 years, the concentrated effort to change the attitudes of youth toward homosexual practice has been highly organized, constant, and very effective.

Within recent years, the pro-gay movement has moved well beyond seeking tolerance to promoting active approval and celebration of homosexuality with youth having been exposed to a consistent presentation of gay-identified individuals almost always sympathetically portrayed.

Clearly, compounding the crisis is that there is no tolerance for anyone having an opposing point of view, a different belief, or a deeply held conviction regarding homosexual practice.

The undeniable reality dictates homosexual practice isn’t ‘out there,’ it’s inside churches, in youth groups across America.

For the past several months, His Way Out Ministries has experienced a considerable increase of Christian parents contacting our ministry with legitimate concerns regarding youth.

For the most part, but not entirely, justified concerns center around…

Should youth, will youth, hold to the instructions of Scripture, The Church, and parents, or will they reject their faith convictions as outdated and accept what I would label “a new morality?”

Personally speaking, these are my concerns of today and for many years.

Most youth are learning more about homosexuality from the internet, movies, and television than they are in our churches.

Consequently, they are not getting truth. So, based on what they are hearing, is it any wonder so many youths agree with and approve of the smorgasbord of possible sexual identities from which to choose?

We, The Church, must address the myths that our youth are hearing and learning from our culture. It is not possible for youth to hold firm to Biblical truth if we, The Church, refuse to address the lies that are bombarding our youth today.

Prayer Requests

  • Parents: Please pray that parents will be fully clothed and prepared by “putting on the full armor of God” so that they can “stand against the devil’s schemes” (Ephesians 6:10-17).
  • Youth: Please pray for youth to more fully understand and embrace that as a result of rebellion against God, we are each tempted to pursue our own ways, doing what seems most “natural” to us.
  • Churches: The mistaken belief of, “We don’t have that problem here,” is naive and almost always wrong. Please pray churches acknowledge the serious error that has been made in removing homosexuality from the list of sins typically spoken about with youth.

Please partner with His Way Out Ministries in prayer to not only continue negating the many myths surrounding homosexuality, but greater opportunities to present a positive message that promotes Biblical sexuality and redemption themes from Scripture to youth.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4
