Regarding the “Zap! Poof! Microwaved Deliverance” many expect, if not demand…

For many men and women, coming to the understanding our sexuality is a potent part of our being, left unchecked, our sexuality can consume and dictate our life’s course and daily decision making, where we go, what we do, whom we befriend, how we feel, etc.

Unfortunately, and tragically, sexuality becomes “the master.”

Romans 6:16 says, “Do you not know that when you present yourself to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey.”

Often, I hear, “I’ve been a Christian for “X” number of years; therefore, I should not have this problem.”

Critically important to remember, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).

It is often our weakness and flaws that become the catalyst which opens avenues of God’s grace and transforming love. As a result, we lay aside self-condemnation as well as perfectionism and embrace God’s Word to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10…

“And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a ‘thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly ‘I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Fact: The war between the spirit and the flesh is real for each and every faithful follower of Christ Jesus. There are no exceptions.

Fact: The battles and ultimately, the war, will be won by the one each of us feeds the most.

Even with deliverance, there is much, much work to do because deliverance does not solve relationship problems, it does not bring about character development, it certainly does not renew a person’s mind, and it cannot and never will take the place of a good, solid, intimate relationship with God the Father.

Maybe, just maybe God is more interested in the process than the end result?

If I can remain determined, calm, and trusting God the Father in the very midst of so many questions and unresolved matters…
.
Couldn’t the process be just as honoring and glorifying to God as the end result?

A few one-liners…

*What you do today, do it better tomorrow.

*Don’t put off your work, job, or things that need doing today, or you will put your life away.

*Fear is false evidence of appearing real.

*If wishes were fishes, we sure would have a lot of cleaning to do.

*You are not a failure until you say you are.

*Never get your eyes off the finish line.

Relax and enjoy the journey!
