Speaking as one once ensnared and bound by the incompleteness and derailment of homosexuality, try and try as I have to get my head, heart, and spirit fully around the above statement, I cannot.

I cannot because it does not make sense.

If, within the statement, one is saying, “I am a Christian that struggles with the temptation of same-sex attraction.” This makes sense and I understand. However, for a faithful follower of Christ Jesus to pronounce identity by first using ‘gay’ (based on one’s sexual orientation) then follow-up with ‘Christian’ – clearly, what is happening is a lack of conviction, practice, and concern of how one is being shaped and led by a wrong and deceiving spirit.

Go with me here for a moment. If I were an individual self-identifying as a ‘gay Christian,’ I would at some point in all honesty and truth need to truly face myself and ask…”Which am I more? Am I more gay than a Christian?”

One of the earmarks of liberal Christianity regarding homosexuality, is the rejection of the infallibility of God’s Word and the quest, if not determination, to find Scriptural acceptance (a canon) within the canon (Scripture) to validate, accept, and endorse homosexual practice. Hence, enter pro-gay theology.

In all fairness, my considerable concern for many men and women today struggling, combating the unwanted brokenness of same-sex attraction is…How are they to follow the Holy Spirit when much of what God has to say regarding homosexual practice is being dismissed, disregarded and withheld? How are they to hear His voice when His words are being silenced?

Is it possible far too much of the Church is now relying on (feelings) which are very, very often completely disconnected from what the Bible says?

I have shared before it was Christians that held me to the truth and authority of Scripture throughout my discipleship. Admittedly, it was not always an easy road to travel. However, I understood they were holding me accountable because they truly had my best interest at heart. Thank God they never once lowered the bar on the truth of Scripture.

A very frightening reality hit me this morning. If God’s truth had been withheld from me, what would I have been left with?

My walk, your walk with God is not about personal sensibilities. The gay Christian identity does not exist in the Kingdom of God. There is a much, much better way.

It isn’t new. It isn’t even really profound. It is the willingness and posture to let Scripture have its unhindered way. Most assuredly, humility (how we approach and receive the truth of God’s Word), is the ingredient necessary for transformation enabling you and I to give way to God’s Word, even when it is unpopular.

“O God, make me know your ways. Teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation, and for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5)

Caribbean Ministry

His Way Out Ministries remains heavily networked with and working in ministry partnership with the Caribbean destinations of Jamaica, Guyana, and Trinidad and Tobago.

We care deeply about men and women with the unwanted brokenness of same-sex attraction and it is our collective goal and privilege to share with The Caribbean the transforming power of God’s love and forgiveness without compromising the truth. We offer the message that there is freedom from homosexuality through the unconditional love and grace of Jesus Christ.

His Way Out Ministries is pleased to share with you we now have a target date of November 1, 2017 to open an office in Port of Spain, the capital of the two-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

Our Caribbean Office will be on the church campus of St. Augustine Evangelical Bible Church/Christ-Centered Counseling Centre.

Over the years, St. Augustine Evangelical Bible Church, has graciously provided His Way Out Ministries many ministry opportunities to share God’s truth regarding homosexuality with their congregation and, as a result, we have enjoyed a solid ministry relationship for quite some time.

Our office location will be in so many ways the ideal location placing us almost right in the middle between the University of the West Indies and InterSchool/InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. While we remain in planning-mode for our new office, many of the necessary and important details are coming together very well and we are excited about this new door of ministry our Lord has opened to us and enabled. On September 19, 2017, Pastor Phillip Lee will be returning to Trinidad and Tobago to fine-tune office details and to meet with various pastors and Christian organizations that have expressed their desire to partner with His Way Out Ministries in reaching Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean for Christ Jesus.

Believing in Him and You!
Does failure compel you away from God, or compel you to cast yourself on His grace and His mercy? To be sure, we are all on a journey of obedience and along the way we experience God’s mighty healing hand. Sometimes our path is marked by mountain-top ecstasy of being in His presence, but sometimes it is marked by our surrender and our will to obey Him when all spiritual passion has disappeared.

There is no doubt, no question, our humanity will always bear, to some degree or another, the marks of this fallen age in which we live.

But what exactly does that mean? Could it possibly mean that…
…the habitual liar may still slip at times?
…the temptation of same-sex attraction may surface from time to time?
…the former addict or alcoholic many need on-going accountability in his or her area of temptation and weakness?
…the emotionally, physically, sexually, or mentally abused may still feel threatened in certain environments or situations?

None of the above mentioned, and I could certainly continue on and on, minimizes God’s power or His sovereignty. It simply places each one of us in a process, a journey of becoming whole in Christ Jesus.

That said, it is imperative as a Christian that we maintain the right goal which is always Christ and in turn Christ-likeness. Without question, the goal of sanctification is to be conformed and transformed into the image of Christ and not to be some close-ended definition of wholeness.

Please, please find comfort in knowing that becoming whole in Jesus is a process. And because it is a process – it doesn’t happen over night.

Growing whole takes time. A lifetime in fact. Relax and enjoy the journey.

Believing in Him and You,
Pastor Phillip Lee

There is no doubt many Christians have been strongly influenced by the continuous parade of positive media representations of homosexuality. It does “seem” that people today increasingly approve of homosexuality as a valid life option for friends and family members. But is that truly the case?

Everyone, Good Morning!

At the Los Angeles Airport waiting to board the first leg of my trip to Houston, TX, a quick plane change, and then on to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Can’t help but take a trip down memory lane when many years ago I worked for United Airlines. Then, I dealt primarily in round trip travel.

Now, it’s one way.

Straight up to Jesus!

Have a blessed day ya’ll!

July 20, 2017

Greetings from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago!

I arrived late last night but up early this morning and heading over to St. Augustine Evangelical Church for a meeting with church leadership.

We will be discussing and fine-tuning details for our His Way Out Ministries – The Caribbean Office.

Our Caribbean Office will be on the church campus of St. Augustine Evangelical Church which is adjacent to the Christ-Centered Counseling Center.

Bright and early tomorrow morning, I take a quick one-hour flight over to Guyana, South America to meet with the leadership of Operation Restoration, our ministry partner of many years.

We will be discussing details for the Educational Seminar that will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9am until 3pm at the National Library in Georgetown, capital of Guyana, South America.

The title of the Educational Seminar is “Affirming Truth Rather Than Culture” with strong attendance expected.

To God be the glory!

Greetings from Guyana, South America!

Operation Restoration, our great friends and partners in ministry for the past seventeen years here in Guyana.

First thing this morning, a television program titled, Look What God Is Doing.

Host, Ms. Jennifer Flatts, will conduct an interview as to why I am here in Guyana and then we will highlight the Educational Seminar being held this morning.

Our Educational Seminar titled “Affirming Truth Rather Than Culture” begins at 9:00am and will be held city center at the National Library here in Georgetown, capital of Guyana, South America.

Seminar topics include: Understanding Homosexuality, Reaching Gay Youth, Going On As A Parent and Homosexuality and the Church.

It’s going to be a grand day!

July 22, 2017

What an exciting day of ministry here in Guyana, South America which began early this morning with being a guest on the television program Look What God Is Doing with host, Ms. Jennifer Flatts.

Ms. Flatts and I have known one another for many years having partnered together in ministry on numerous occasions through the Christian ministry, Operation Restoration, of which she is a leader.

The half-hour program flew by but we covered a considerable amount of territory including testimony, the purpose and ministry services of His Way Out Ministries, why I am in Guyana this particular trip and the importance of educating the Church to be more effective in reaching those with unwanted same-sex attraction.

Many thanks to Channel 9 and Ms Flatts for having me on the program once again. To God be the glory for what He has done and what He is doing here in Guyana, South America.

Ms. Jennifer Flatts, host of “Look What God Is Doing,” Guyana, South America and Phillip Lee

July 22, 2017

Today’s Educational Seminar, “Affirming Truth Rather Than Culture,” which was held today at the National Library here in Georgetown, Guyana, South America was quite remarkable.

The full-day leadership training brought Christians from all over Georgetown and surrounding areas. Additional seating had to be brought in three times and then it quickly became standing room only.

I note attendance because it was abundantly clear that all those in attendance were there to learn. Clearly, all participants attended seeking information and training.

Equally, all participants were very attentive and fully engaged from beginning to end for the training which I designed to be highly interactive rather than a lecture-style teaching/training.

Seminar participants had excellent questions and throughout the day highly productive discussions surfaced providing an abundance of opportunity to turn and focus upon the Lordship of Christ and the Authority of Scripture.

Covering “Reaching Gay Youth, Homosexuality and the Church, Understanding Homosexuality, and Going On As A Parent” provided the teaching framework to cover many practical points for ministry to those with unwanted same-sex attraction.

It truly was a grand event for which I give God all the praise.

July 23, 2017

This morning, I fly back to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago for an afternoon meeting with the leadership of Hospital Christian Fellowship, friends and ministry partners of His Way Out Ministries for many years.

This particular trip has been go, go, go and packed daily since my arrival. Each day the Holy Spirit has confirmed and reconfirmed “His Way Out Ministries – The Caribbean” in truly remarkable ways and I am excited to be a part of what God will do and accomplish in this part of His creation.

On Monday, I will meet once again with the leadership of St. Augustine Evangelical Bible Church to sign a lease for our new Caribbean Office, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

These are exciting times. To God be the glory!

July 24, 2017

Everyone, Greetings from Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago!

It is official! As of this morning, lease signed with an office dedication and official launch of His Way Out Ministries – The Caribbean, scheduled for November 1, 2017.

In America, The Caribbean, and throughout this entire world, people are in need of God’s clarity about their relationships and their sexuality.

His Way Out Ministries – The Caribbean will be, just like His Way Out Ministries – United States, dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and encouraging the Body of Christ throughout the Caribbean, to minister to those who struggle with the unwanted brokenness of same-sex attraction.

The position of His Way Out Ministries – United States and The Caribbean, rests on the Authority of Scripture with all ministry services centered on the Biblical foundations of compassion, integrity, and dependence on God.

We have been and we shall remain committed to effectively and compassionately communicating God’s heart concerning sexual brokenness and wholeness, while disputing the unchangeable nature of sexual orientation.

“And this is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:11)

For King and Kingdom,

Pastor Phillip Lee
