Trinidad and Tobago Ministry Trip Summary
October 17 – 31, 2013

“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Luke 16:15)

Recently, in Trinidad and Tobago, Hospital Christian Fellowship and His Way Out Ministries partnered in ministry once again spreading the Good News that freedom from same-sex attraction is indeed possible when Jesus Christ is Lord of your life!

October 18 – Debra Gauthier and I met with Hospital Christian Fellowship leadership, Dr. Judith Henry, Maria Branford and Dr. Garthlyn Pilgrim for prayer and an afternoon briefing session. That evening, our first evangelistic outreach was at St. James Pentecostal Church in which Debra and I shared our testimonies of freedom from the bondage of same-sex attraction which was extremely well received. Pastor Gilkes, Senior Pastor of St. James Pentecostal Church expressed, “Our church is open to receiving training so that we may be equipped for ministry to those with unwanted same-sex attraction.”

October 19 – A morning session with leaders of Interschool Christian Fellowship focused upon an enlightening session titled, The Approach to Homosexuality in Our Schools, with 65 educators in attendance. Many participants expressed their concern regarding sexual promiscuity and gender confusion in their schools. An evening session at the Open Bible Men’s Camp, with over 200 pastors and leaders, was a real eye-opener resulting in many churches expressing their desire to be trained and equipped for ex-gay ministry.

October 20 – At the Sunday morning worship service at St. Augustine Evangelical Church, Debra shared her powerful testimony and I shared a message titled, Homosexuality: A Crisis of Truth. Ultimately, St. Augustine Evangelical Church expressed their willingness and commitment to offering ministry to those with unwanted same-sex attraction at their church.

October 22 – A morning radio program on Radio Isaac 98.1FM with Debra and I encouraging the Church to reach to the gay community with both truth and grace was extremely well received and blanketed all of Trinidad and Tobago.

October 23 – On a program titled, Women of Promise, Debra had the wonderful opportunity to share her testimony relating ‘identity theft’ during her many years in a lesbian lifestyle on Radio Isaac 98.1FM.

October 24 – Our one-day journey to Tobago was a great time of outreach to several schools, a roundtable discussion with pastors of various churches and denominations, and a taping of TV show which continues to be aired throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

October 25 – A meeting with students of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship was a vibrant interactive session. Students from different disciplines and different Caribbean territories were in attendance enabling a lively Q&A session regarding same-sex attraction and related issues.

October 26 – Debra ministered at a ladies conference titled, Complete in Him. A young lady approached Debra in tears for prayer and counsel with regard to her struggle with lesbianism. Many others expressed their need for training and also shared, “They experienced a significant shift in their attitude toward the gay community,” with their eyes now open to this being about ‘people’ and not just an issue.

October 27 – A visit to Agape Bible Ministries provided an extensive time of prayer which was greatly appreciated since Debra, Dr. Henry and I were scheduled to be guests on a live TV program the following morning on CTV.

October 28 – The CTV morning show titled, First Up, enabled Debra, Dr. Henry and I to focus upon the unhealthy and high-risk behavior of homosexual practice which needs to continue to be addressed by the medical community. After First Up, we each taped individual segments to be later aired on a documentary series, Perspectives on Homosexuality.

October 30 – A meeting with His Excellency, President Anthony Carmona of Trinidad and Tobago. What an honor, what a privilege to share with President Carmona for an hour about a God that restores from the brokenness of same-sex attraction. President Carmona gave us more than a listening ear. At the conclusion of our meeting, President Carmona offered, “You have my full support and endorsement.”

October 31 – Upon our last day in Trinidad and Tobago, we all gathered over a meal to discuss and debrief the incredible two weeks of ministry. Ultimately, the consensus was completely unanimous, “To God be the glory for the great things He has done!”

“If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at the moment attacking, then I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is tested.” Martin Luther

Prayerfully yours,
